Restoration of great-grandma's table

The client inherited her great-grandmother's kitchen table, which had been sitting in a relative's basement for 20 years. It had seen better days and needed help, so the base and apron were removed and restored. With a thorough sanding to remove the old finish(es) and years of grime, they were reassembled with a new 1 1/2" white oak top at 50" for a "new" table for the great-granddaughter's family.

To bring the table up to the height of modern tables, a set of new stringers were made and provided lateral support for the new top. The table was finished with Rubio Monocoat's Chocolate and should be around for a few more generations.
