About Woodstock & Iron Woodworking

Innovation

We let creativity guide our process. We always strive to bring beauty, character, and purpose together in a way that makes something new feel timeless.

Craftsmanship

We build each piece by hand with patience, precision, and pride. Our craft lives in every joint we cut, grain we showcase, and finish we apply.

Integrity

We hold ourselves to the highest standards. From the first measurement to the final installation, each project receives our full care and attention.

Connection

We see this work and this community as part of our identity. Serving Woodstock with honesty isn’t just a privilege; it’s a responsibility we take seriously.

Custom Interior Solutions: Forged from Ore & Crafted with Grain

Woodstock & Iron Woodworking is a small workshop dedicated to providing local businesses and residents the kind of personal attention and custom options global retailers and off-the-shelf products can’t match.

But while we may create custom furniture, cabinetry, and architectural pieces from wood and iron, we don’t view ourselves as carpenters or blacksmiths.

We see ourselves as problem solvers.

People typically reach out to Woodstock & Iron because they’re facing a challenge. They may need a display case that’ll fit under an oddly sized desk or a kitchen table that’s simultaneously upscale and inviting.

And by listening carefully, thinking creatively, and channeling our skills, we use woodgrain and ore to create the solutions our clients need.

Woodstock & Iron: The Creativity Behind the Craftsmanship

Woodstock & Iron Woodworking owner Michael Nixon has always been a creative thinker with a knack for solving problems.

This began in his father’s basement workshop, where he first learned the tools and techniques necessary to overcome design and construction challenges.

His creativity continued to help him in adulthood, as he spent more than a decade teaching high school social studies courses, before later overseeing the Georgia High School Mock Trial Competition.

In fact, one of these competitions provided the inspiration for what would eventually become Woodstock & Iron: Instead of providing the winning students with generic trophies, he took the time to build handcrafted awards that would be treasured, rather than forgotten.

After seeing the trophies he created, friends and acquaintances began encouraging Michael to put his skills and passion to better use. So, he began taking on small projects, starting with a liquor cabinet for a friend, and then a set of benches for a local veterinary office.

Things continued to snowball, and the demand for Michael’s custom creations finally allowed him to make Woodstock & Iron his full-time profession in 2022.

But during every step of his journey, from eager young woodworker to professional craftsman, Michael relied on the same skills he uses today: He listens carefully and thinks creatively to craft furniture and architectural features that are as clever as they are charming.

I have always been a problem solver and like helping people fix things. I like coming up with a creative solution to their specific problem and providing a fix to it.
